Reading time: 3 minutes.

The spiritual meaning of the number 8 is based on the Holy Scriptures, as set forth in Leviticus 25:18-22 and Luke 2:21-22. These passages reveal the symbolism of the act of sowing in the eighth year to reap in the ninth, highlighting crucial values such as obedience, consecration and presentation to God.

The command in Leviticus urges us to execute God’s statutes, promising that if we obey, we will dwell in safety and the land will provide us abundantly. The promise of a special blessing in the sixth year, allowing for three years’ worth of fruit, highlights divine faithfulness even in periods of apparent scarcity.

In Luke 2:21-22, we observe how the mother of John the Baptist, following the law of Moses, took the boy to the temple on the eighth day to circumcise him and give him a name. This act of obedience and consecration reveals the importance of presenting our lives and being obedient to the will of God.

Putting these principles into practice in our lives involves sowing in various areas, whether economic, family or spiritual. The exhortation is clear: sow with faith and trust in God, knowing that we will reap in His perfect time.

The relevance of gathering together as the Lord’s church, as highlighted in the Solemn Assembly of the eighth day mentioned in Leviticus, tells us the importance of communion and worship. Furthermore, the call to obedience to the word of God is manifested as a sure path to blessing and spiritual growth.

We invite you to listen and consider the presentation of your lives to God. We declare the promise of a year 2024 marked by God’s blessing and fidelity to biblical principles. May each step taken reflect the desire to sow in the Kingdom of God and reap according to His grace and mercy.
