Called to Grow

Reading time: 4 minutes.

We observe the amazement of mothers to see how their babies grow, and through certain applications, we are shown their development as they grow in the mother’s womb in images. For parents, holding their children for the first time in their arms is a wonderful moment. The life that God gives us is a gift that we must take advantage of and fully enjoy, and it is a call to grow in every way.

  1. Grow in Knowledge and Relationship with God

Our relationship with God is a constant learning journey. His Word never returns empty, it always fulfills its purpose. In our search to know who God is, what he is like, and what he does, we find answers in the Scriptures. God’s will for our life is displayed in the Bible. When we are with God, we experience his care and protection, reflected as a shelter under his wings.

Just as our children prepare for the academic world, we must also grow in the word of God. As we progress on the path of faith, we learn to live worthy and pleasing before Him. We carry his presence with us wherever we go, as the Holy Spirit dwells within us.

  1. Virtue and Knowledge: Essential Complements

In our walk with Christ, we not only accumulate knowledge, but we must also cultivate virtue. Self-control, a fruit of the Holy Spirit, is essential in overcoming the old man. We look at how Jesus faced scorn and criticism, and how he kept his way in the midst of adversity.

As we deepen our knowledge of God, we build a stronger relationship with Him. We recognize that the more we grow in our understanding, the easier it becomes to connect with our Creator.

In this race of spiritual growth, we are called to grow in knowledge and relationship with God. As children advance in their education, we advance in our understanding of God’s Word. On this journey, we embrace virtues like self-control, thus modeling the life of Christ in the midst of challenges.

May these reflections guide us as we pursue a deeper connection with God. Let us remember the words of Colossians 1:10 and 2 Peter 1:5-6, committing ourselves to grow in our faith and daily transformation. And may the passage of 2 Peter 3:18 inspire our constant growth in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

With love and faith, Pastor Guillermo Ayala.
