- God adopts us as His children:
Jesus offers us forgiveness: People who study the human mind say that humans need to have good relationships. You need to get along well with your spouse, children; you have to seek and get along with everyone, with your neighbor, people who serve publicly. If you find a way to have good relationships, they say, you have a good part of your life resolved because you will know how to handle the situation and circumstances of life.
There are three types of relationships, and the most important is the one we have with God. Jesus Christ came to this earth and gave His life for others. The Bible says that He came and that the true light enlightens every man. He came to save what was lost, and what was lost was the perfect relationship between man and God, a relationship of love.
God fulfills our needs. When the world fails us, when people fail us, even when close friends fail us, we find comfort and strength in God.
Christmas is Jesus. So Jesus has to be at the center of our gathering, at the center of our celebration. Jesus is the reason. The angels had to descend from heaven to say, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men. And here, a son is born to you; they will call him Emmanuel,” which means “God with us.” The forgiveness that God gives us is something wonderful because it makes you be at peace with God. When you feel God’s forgiveness, when you receive God’s forgiveness and know that what He did is not what you have done, we, brothers and sisters, are to receive that gift: adoption. I am a child of God. Our identity does not depend on what the world dictates; our identity does not depend on what people say. Our identity is that we are children of God, washed with the blood of Christ. He adopted us as His children. Loving each other does not mean agreeing on everything and saying yes to everything the other says. Loving each other is speaking the truth in love. Many times, with our attitude, we distance people more. God’s will is that we be called children of God. We are presented with a relationship with God not just as created beings or distant from God, but a relationship of closeness. We are called children of God. That’s the relationship, like that of a child with his father.
- Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world:
John saw Jesus coming and said, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” Jesus came so that you and I could have a love relationship with Him. I serve God out of love for Him. I love God, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Through Jesus, we are given a good father who will take care of us. Jesus is the bridge that connects us to the Father. Now we have a direct relationship with our Father. Therefore, at least once a year, remembering these concepts is good for us. It reminds us of our true identity, not only identity but what we have received from the Lord. We have received forgiveness and have been adopted into the family of God by being adopted as His children. Thanks to what Jesus has already done for each of us. That word “takes away,” taking away the sin of the world in the verse, is a word in Greek that is pronounced more or less as “airo” and means to take upon oneself and carry what has been lifted up. That’s what Jesus did, Jesus Christ, who reconciled us with God the Father. So, brother, that is the reason to celebrate. Jesus loves us so much that He has freed us from all burdens.
So, let us receive these gifts that Jesus Christ brought with Him when He dwelt among us. Don’t let the commercialization of Christmas steal the true meaning of what Christ came to provide us.
Sincerely, Pastor Guillermo Ayala.
