Serving and Giving Thanks

by Mar 3, 2025

“Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.”
(1 Chronicles 29:13)

This portion of David’s song was the result of a great offering made by the king, along with the participation of all the people of Israel, for the construction of the temple in Jerusalem. It required much involvement and effort to carry out God’s work. In response to such dedication, David rejoiced and praised God. When we serve the Lord, no effort is in vain.

Helping in God’s work is like planting a seed in good soil. Whenever you have the opportunity to serve God, do not do it carelessly. Serve Him with a grateful heart, and you will see everything God does in your life when you make yourself available to Him. God blesses and loves those who take joy in serving Him.

Serve the Lord with Joy

Get involved with the brothers and sisters in your church. Make yourself available to them. As you draw closer and build relationships, you will get to know them better and become more involved in God’s work.

When serving in God’s house, even in small tasks, remember that every service is an offering of worship. When you finish, present your service to God in prayer.

Prayer:

Lord God, I want to thank You and praise You for everything You have done in my life. Stir my heart so that I may take even greater joy in serving You. I want to serve as Jesus served. I want to be filled with joy in Your house. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
