“The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” — John 6:63 NLT

Many times we may ask ourselves: What is my purpose? Why am I here? Can God really use my life? These questions can fill us with doubt, especially when we focus on our limitations, our past, or what other people think about us.

However, God’s Word reminds us that our purpose does not begin with our abilities, but with God, who created us, called us, and desires for us to reflect His character in this world.

God Created You with a Purpose

The Bible declares that we were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Our identity does not depend on our nationality, appearance, culture, or social status. We were all created by God, and we have value before Him.

Your existence is not an accident. God created you to know Him, love Him, reflect His character, love others, and faithfully steward what He has placed in your hands.

You do not need to compare yourself with someone else to discover your worth. Your life has purpose because it belongs to God.

God Can Use Those He Calls

Many times we think, “I am not prepared,” “I am not enough,” “I don’t have experience,” or “I am not qualified.”

But the Bible shows us that God does not look at things the way people do. When Samuel was looking for the future king, God told him:

“People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
— 1 Samuel 16:7 NLT

David was not chosen because of his appearance or according to human standards, but because he had a heart that was willing before God.

Your calling does not depend on the approval of others. God is the One who calls, equips, and guides you. The Holy Spirit helps us walk according to God’s will and reminds us of the words of Jesus (John 14:26).

Therefore, do not allow insecurity to make you believe that God cannot use you.

God’s Word Brings Life and Freedom

One of the central messages of this teaching is that God’s Word has the power to transform our lives.

Jesus said that His words are spirit and life (John 6:63). This is not simply about hearing encouraging words, but about believing them and bringing our lives under what God has spoken.

The story of the man who was in prison illustrates this reality. He needed hope and received, not merely a human opinion, but the message of Scripture. Eventually, he expressed that he had experienced a freedom he had never felt before.

God’s Word can reach places where our own words cannot.

When you do not know what to do, go back to the Word. When you are afraid, go back to the Word. When you doubt your purpose, go back to the Word.

We Are Called to Carry the Light Where There Is Darkness

God does not call us only to receive from Him, but also to carry His message to others.

Jesus sends us to make disciples and take the Gospel to all nations. Therefore, our mission can take place in many different settings: in our families, workplaces, communities, and even through digital media.

Social media, films, testimonies, creativity, and technology can become tools for communicating hope to people who may never walk into a church.

Where there is darkness, God wants His children to be light.

Perhaps someone needs to hear a word of hope that you can share. Perhaps your testimony can help someone who is going through a difficult situation. Do not underestimate what God can do through a willing life.

God Can Still Write a New Story

Perhaps today you are looking at your mistakes, wounds, or limitations and thinking that there is not much God can do with you anymore.

But your past does not have the final word.

God calls, restores, transforms, and equips. The decision to draw near to Him and receive His salvation is before us. Christ came to restore, set us free, and give us abundant life.

You do not need to have all the answers. Start by drawing near to Jesus. Allow His Word to transform your heart and the Holy Spirit to direct your steps.

Your life has purpose. Your story can be transformed. And God can use your life to bring hope to others.
