The Resurrection: Our Living Hope

1 Corinthians 15:12-21
In this passage, Paul reminds us that if Christ had not been raised from the dead, our faith would be in vain. However, Jesus rose from the dead as the firstfruits, assuring us that we too will be resurrected. His resurrection is the guarantee of our eternal life and calls us to live with hope, trusting in the victory He gives us over death.

Jesus, the Life and the Resurrection

John 11
In the story of Lazarus, Jesus declares: “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” By raising Lazarus from the dead, Jesus shows us that He has power over death. As God’s firstfruits, His life and victory are the promise that all who believe in Him will receive eternal life.

Chosen from the Beginning

2 Thessalonians 2:13
Paul expresses that God chose us from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. Jesus, as the firstfruits of the resurrected, is also the evidence of God’s eternal love. Through His sacrifice and resurrection, we are called to be part of His redemption and to walk in holiness.

Closing Prayer

Lord, thank You for sending Jesus as the firstfruits of the resurrected. His victory over death assures us of the hope of eternal life. Help me to walk in faith, remembering that I have been chosen and loved by You from the beginning. May my life reflect the certainty of Your power and resurrection. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sincerely, Pastor Guillermo Ayala
