Reading Time: 3 Minutes
Key Verse: 2 Peter 3:1-13
Dear brothers and sisters, this is now the second letter I am writing to you, in both of which I seek to refresh your memory so that, with a sincere mind, you remember the words spoken by the holy prophets and the command of our Lord and Savior given through the apostles.
1. God is Patient, and We Must Wait Patiently for Him
The promise of Christ’s coming may seem delayed, but this apparent “delay” is actually a demonstration of God’s patience. He doesn’t want anyone to perish but wants everyone to come to repentance. Let’s reflect on God’s patience toward us and the world, learning to wait with hope and faith, trusting that His timing is perfect. Each day is an opportunity to draw closer to Him.
How is God calling me to cultivate patience in my life and in my relationship with Him?
2. As We Await His Coming, We Are Called to Purify Ourselves Through Repentance
While we wait for His return, the Holy Spirit invites us to examine our lives and cleanse our hearts of anything that is not aligned with His will. Genuine repentance is not just a change of mind; it is a change of direction. It’s an opportunity to receive His grace and walk in holiness, preparing ourselves for His coming.
What areas of my life need true repentance? How can I begin surrendering them to God today?
3. The Purpose of Regular Confession is Humility, Not Guilt
Confessing our sins is not meant for us to live in guilt but to cultivate a humble attitude. Recognizing our failings makes us depend more on God and less on ourselves. When we confess, we allow the Holy Spirit to work within us, strengthening our relationship with the Father. Let’s ask ourselves: “What is the Holy Spirit wanting to show me?” and “What does He want me to do?” By doing this, we can allow His voice to guide us in every aspect of our lives.
Faithfully, Guillermo Ayala
