The Virgin Birth of Jesus

Reading Time: 3 Minutes

1. The Importance of the Birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ
Key Verses: Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:46-55, Romans 5:12-19

The birth of Jesus marks the fulfillment of God’s promise of redemption. Isaiah prophesied about the coming of Emmanuel, “God with us” (Isaiah 7:14), who would bring hope to a broken world. This birth not only changed history but also continues to transform lives today, offering salvation and reconciliation with God.

Jesus could not have been our Savior if Joseph had been His earthly father, as He would have inherited the sinful nature passed down from Adam to all humanity.
Our Lord was born of a virgin because what was conceived in her was from the Holy Spirit. Jesus was both fully man and fully God. This is what makes His birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection extraordinary. He was the Word made flesh—news of great joy! This is why we celebrate the Nativity of Jesus Christ.

2. Mary’s Song of Praise
Key Verse: Luke 1:46

Mary, chosen to give birth to the Savior, recognized the magnitude of this event, praising God with a song that highlights His faithfulness and mercy (Luke 1:46-55). Through Jesus, we have all received the grace that frees us from sin, as Paul explains in Romans 5:12-19.

Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord.” This verse encapsulates the attitude of worship and gratitude that flows from a heart recognizing God’s work. Despite the uncertainties she faced, Mary fully trusted in God’s plan. Her praise not only honors God but also inspires us to magnify His name in all circumstances, acknowledging His power and mercy in our lives.

Mary was a woman of great faith who left us many lessons, including humility. In her song, she magnifies the Lord and acknowledges how small and unworthy she is before the greatness and majesty of the King.

3. When God Blesses a Person, the Blessing Doesn’t End There
Key Verses: Ephesians 2:8-9

God’s grace is an unmerited gift that not only transforms us but also impacts those around us. When we receive His blessing, we are called to share it with others, extending His love and goodness. Paul reminds us that we are saved by grace, not by works, so no one can boast. This divine gift has an eternal purpose: to glorify God and bless others through our lives.

The Lord has already blessed us through Christ Jesus in heavenly places. While curses may reach the third and fourth generations, God’s blessing extends to a thousand generations. See how powerful blessings are compared to curses. If you have Jesus, you are blessed by the Father.

May God bless you and help you this week to reflect His glory.

Sincerely,
Pastor Guillermo Ayala
