To the Ends of the Earth

The importance of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a direct mandate from our Lord, who calls us to be His witnesses to the ends of the Earth. Acts 1:8 reminds us that this calling is not a task we are to fulfill by our own strength, but rather it requires the help of the Holy Spirit. Without His power, it would be impossible to fulfill the mission of being faithful and effective witnesses.

When I accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 12, this encounter with Christ transformed my life and filled me with the desire to share the Gospel. At first, like many of us, I didn’t know certain places on the map, but God guided me strategically to fulfill His purpose. This purpose is to spread the Gospel and fill the Earth with the knowledge of Christ.

Every believer has a story to tell about how Jesus found and saved them. It is essential to start sharing this message in our immediate surroundings (our “Jerusalem”), then expand to broader areas (our “Judea and Samaria”), and finally reach the whole world (Acts 1:8). The Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 calls us to make disciples of all nations, trusting in the continuous authority and presence of Jesus.

Resistance and rejection of the Gospel message are to be expected, but we must not be discouraged. James 1:2-3 encourages us to consider it pure joy when we face trials because they produce patience and strengthen our faith. Perseverance is key; we must get used to rejection and continue our work, as there are people who will accept the message.

The Holy Spirit is essential in this process, giving us power and courage to share our faith, even when we face fear or shyness. In the practical experience of evangelization by the pastor, despite the rejection of many, there are always some people willing to listen and receive prayer. This reinforces the need to persist in the mission of evangelization.

It is common that at the beginning, sharing our faith is difficult, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, we gain confidence and skill in evangelization. The guidance and support of other more experienced Christians in evangelization are also fundamental. This practical training allows us to learn by observing and gradually participating.

We must use our words, attitudes, and actions to testify to our faith. Being witnesses not only in specific moments but in our daily lives, positively impacting those around us. Our goal is to show the love of God through our lives and actions, always being willing to share the message of the Gospel.

The mission of sharing the Gospel to the ends of the Earth is a divine calling that requires the help of the Holy Spirit. Although we face rejection and resistance, we must persevere, trusting in the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit. May our lives reflect the love of God, and may we always be willing to be brave and effective witnesses of the Gospel everywhere.

Sincerely, Pastor Guillermo Ayala
